Around Amber

The imposing hilltop fort is Amber’s most popular destination, but we recommend a leisurely walk down the narrow lanes of this historically important town to look at some of its other impressive sites.

The Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing is a perfect starting point to explore by foot. Step back in time, passing old havelis, stepwells, temples and mosques.  Download our hand-drawn map or ask the museum staff for recommendations and directions. They know Amber well.

For a slightly more energetic walk, head up towards the rear entrance of Amber Fort and to Narsingh Temple and Bumbs Haveli, passing other interesting places along the way. Don’t forget to carry your camera, hat and a bottle of water!
